Job Description
We are looking for a guide to join our team for the coming Winter season which runs from November 25th until March 31st .
The Activity Guide’s main responsibilities will be to organize, prepare and guide the following outdoor activities:
- Northern Lights Watch;
- Sami storytelling;
- Snowshoes Tours;
- Cross Country Ski Trips;
- Ice/Fjord Fishing;
All of these activities take place in the hills around Lake Nikka in beautiful pine tree forests.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
- Preparing all of the gear, snacks, and clothing for the tours;
- Welcoming guests and organizing the group and logistics;
- Delivering tours in a friendly and professional manner while sharing your knowledge of the Norwegian environment and culture;
- Ensuring the guest’s safety and enjoyment at all times. You will be responsible for group management, monitoring your client’s fitness levels and abilities, and be able to read and monitor the snow/weather conditions;
- Cleaning and reorganizing all of the equipment and store rooms after the tours;
This position will also require additional duties during custom-made tours and events such as organizing and cleaning buildings, serving food, filling wood, and snow removal.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Relevant experience as a guide;
- Previous experience as a winter activities guide is prioritized;
- Fluent in English;
- Some ski experience is prioritized;
- Passionate with a willingness to learn or be knowledgeable about Norwegian nature and culture;
- Flexible and able to work at night, on weekends, and on public holidays;
- Comfortable in handling groups of up to 30 people;
- Able to work with and entertain people from different cultures as our guests are from all over the world;
- Full clean driver’s license class B;

About the employer:
Malangen resort is located 1-hour drive from Tromsø and is set on the picturesque waterfront location of Malangen fjord.
The resort can accommodate more the 300 guests and boasts high-standard hotel rooms, apartments, and cabins. It also has a restaurant that specializes in North Norwegian cuisine.
During the winter season, our guests can enjoy a variety of activities such as Northern Lights watch, Native Sami tours as well as snow activities such as Dog Sledding, Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing, and Snowmobiling Adventures.
