Job Description


The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment and work areas in kitchen to meet with departmental set service standards.

They are also responsible for the quality of their work and be adaptable to various functions such as kitchen assistant, dishwasher and pot section attending.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cleans, washes and stores including but not limited to crockery, pots, glassware and chinaware
  • Handles, uses, and stores chemicals and equipment in a correct and efficient manner, striving to reduce costs
  • Picks up and disposes litter and/or cardboards in all Food and Beverage areas
  • Continually re-stocks and maintains communication to ensure no stock outs
  • Ensures orderliness in allocated work areas including but not limited to preparation, cold larder, scullery, storage and rubbish
  • Reports accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to direct supervisors
  • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures
  • Ensures highest standard of hygiene is always maintained by following HACCP guidelines
  • Maintains positive relations with all staff and departments
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as assigned by direct supervisors from time to time

Qualifications

Experience

  • No previous experience is required

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent professional training

Skills

  • Conversational English
  • Organized
  • Able to perform repetitive duties
  • Attention to detail
