Medical ward 1E is one of three beds at the Department of Internal Medicine at Innlandet Gjøvik Hospital. We have 18 beds and a hematology outpatient clinic co-located and co-organised with the inpatient unit. We are an active inpatient unit with the specialist areas of hematology and oncology, and we have an area function for Innlandet Hospital within hematology and radiation oncology. Core tasks are nursing care for patients undergoing active cancer treatment and patients with haematological conditions. We treat patients in curative and palliative courses. We administer chemotherapy courses at the bedside and in the outpatient clinic. We also have some general medical patients. 

1 x 85% temporary position as a nurse available from 12.08.24

3 split shifts with work every 3 weekends.
In the event of an internal reshuffle, there may be a need for other position sizes, please state in the application if this may be relevant.

Work assignments

  • Reception, mapping and processing.
  • Drug handling. 
  • Care and follow-up of haematological, oncological, palliative and medical patients.
  • Family cooperation.
  • Documentation.
  • Interaction with the municipal health service and cancer contacts.
  • Participate in further development of the nursing profession.
  • Guidance and training of students, apprentices and interns.

Qualifications

  • Norwegian authorization as a nurse.
  • Relevant experience/practice is desirable, but not a requirement
  • Command the Norwegian language very well orally and in writing
