A Water Clerk? What is that? A water clerk or shipping agent is the link between ship and office. The organization of the approach of the ship from A to Z is in your hands! 

A company on the outskirts of Ghent is looking for the ideal Logistics employee Water Clerk!

 

What are your daily tasks as a Water Clerk?  

  • You closely monitor the information about berths and ship positions.
  • You are the link between the office and the ship and you are in contact with clients and service providers.
  • The preparation, execution and completion of work regarding ships, cargo and crew are your responsibility.
  • You take on an administrative role alternately with other colleagues . 
  • You carry out ship visits . 
  • Plan and prepare current and next shifts. 
  • You will be on call alternately with colleagues  , also at night and during the weekend . 

Do you meet the following criteria?  

  • You have relevant initial work experience in logistics  OR you have completed training in logistics and/or supply chain
  • You are very flexible
  • You come from Ghent or the surrounding area so that you can be on site quickly during an on-call service
  • You have strong communication skills with both colleagues and customers. 
  • You have a driver’s license . 
  • Besides Dutch , you also speak a fair amount of English .
  • You are independent but also a team player , organized and practical .
